HOW MANY QUILT BLOCKS DO I NEED?

The measurements are from common mattress top sizes used today. The number of blocks are to cover your mattress top only. You may add more blocks or borders for the drop (side) of your bed quilt. Not all mattresses are the same dimensions. But the chart will give you a good idea of how many blocks you will need for these larger quilting projects.

Keep in mind quilt making is an art form. If you add sashing, the width of your sashing depends on you. These charts are just guides.
